It is with a heavy heart that I have watched the many accusations being hurled against well-known preachers and ministers in the body of Christ. As believers, we are called to walk in love and humility, and I do not believe that public platforms are the place to settle internal matters.
I have heard some prominent ministries saying, "God is cleaning house." I believe this to be true — He is a holy God who disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6). However, I also sense that many of those quick to accuse others may themselves be the ones God is exposing and calling to repentance.
We see a similar pattern in the political realm. During President Biden's administration, loyalties were revealed, and President Trump discovered who stood with him and who opposed him. In the same way, our Heavenly Father allows seasons of shaking to reveal the true condition of hearts. He uses these times to show His prophets and His people whom they can truly trust.
When the Lord declares that He is "cleaning house," it is not an invitation for us to act as self-appointed spiritual police. Rather, it is a call to personal examination and repentance. Before we point fingers at others, we must allow the Holy Spirit to search our own hearts (Psalm 139:23–24).
May we remember that judgment begins in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17), and it starts with us — not with public accusations, but with private surrender. Let us humble ourselves before the Lord and seek His mercy and cleansing in our own lives first.
Reflection Prayer:
Father, search my heart and reveal anything that does not please You. Cleanse me and purify me so that I can walk in integrity and love. Help me to resist the temptation to judge others harshly and instead intercede for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Let Your holiness shine through me as a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus' name, amen.
