Thought Curses
Jennifer LeClaire
If you're a charismatic believer, you've probably heard of word curses. A word curse is a form of witchcraft that taps into the power of death that's in your tongue—or someone else's tongue. This spirit of Jezebel can work through people to release thought curses.
When we speak negatively over someone's life—"They will never hold down a job acting like that," "Their marriage is bound to fail the way he treats her," "The doctors said he's going to die in 30 days. Isn't that sad?" "I catch that flu every year!" "I'll never get a raise at this dead-end job"—we are agreeing with the enemy's plan and giving power to it with our anointed mouths. When we speak word curses over someone's life—or our own lives—we are opening the door to the devil.
Remember, Proverbs 18:21 says the power of death and life are in the tongue. Unfortunately, I hear many people speaking continual death over their lives, their children, their finances—and other people. Since words come from thoughts, word curses actually begin as thought curses.
The Reality of Thought Curses
Recently, as I was praying to break word curses, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the reality of thought curses. One of my prophetic mentors instructed me about 15 years ago that someone was releasing thought curses against me and it was causing me emotional distress. I forgot all about that until the Holy Spirit brought it back up again—and then I found theology to back up the theory.
The preacher said, "Even in your mind do not curse the king; and in your bedchamber do not curse the rich; for a bird in the sky may carry your voice, and a winged creature may declare the matter" (Eccl. 10:20).
The word "curse" in that Scripture means, "to make despicable, to curse, to make light, to treat with contempt, bring contempt, or dishonor," according to the KJV Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon. The Bible says even in your mind—another translation says in your thoughts—not to curse people. Even in your mind! A word curse gives voice to an evil thought, but how can a thought take voice in the spirit realm?
From Thought Curses to Word Curses
When we think wrong thoughts about people—or about ourselves—we're violating Scripture. Paul tells us, "Whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things" (Phil. 4:8).
When we're thinking wrong thoughts about people—or ourselves—we're agreeing with the Accuser of the Brethren. We're getting on the devil's side and allowing him to feed our minds ammunition that will eventually come out of our mouths and become a word curse. Think about it for a minute. If you meditate on how angry and upset you are about someone because they wronged you, how long will it be before you speak out those thought curses and transform them into word curses?
Have you ever walked into a room and the atmosphere was tense or gloomy? And then when you speak to the person in the room, you discover they are tense or gloomy. Could it be possible that their thoughts have impacted the atmosphere in the room? I believe so. I believe if thoughts are powerful to change our own mind, they must be powerful enough to change the atmosphere around us and may be powerful enough to release witchcraft at people.
What I do know is this: Witches believe in negative thought forms. Negative thought forms are described as "structured interdimensional energy" that witches work up against victims for a specific purpose. These are intentional psychic attacks that come through negative thinking, jealousy, anger, fear, revenge and other negative thoughts. If there is power in positive thinking, there must be power in negative thinking.
Combating Thought Curses
As Christians, we need to obey Scripture. Second Corinthians 10:5-6 talks about casting down imaginations, but we often forget the part that says to bring "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being willing to punish all disobedience when your obedience is complete."
Combating thought curses starts with our own thoughts. If we're cursing ourselves in our thoughts, we need to intentionally think the opposite of what the enemy is telling us, what people say about us, or what we think about our own shortcomings. We need to declare the truth out of our mouths. By the same token, we need to guard our thoughts about others. We don't want to be used of the enemy against anyone and violate the law of love.
Now, if you discern thought curses are coming against you, move in the Luke 6:28 principle—bless those who curse you even if you don't know who they are. Next, bind thought curses and word curses in the name of Jesus with the Matthew 16:19 key. Finally, take authority over every demonic thought that has been formed against your life and gird up the loins of your mind, for that is where the root of the battle really lies.

My Call Came Early in My Life
My name is Stacie Jaye.
I am one of the founders of Eagle Way Ministries (online).
I was called by the Lord at a very young age, and of course, I had no idea of what it meant, just that I wanted to preach or teach. The Lord put it on my heart at a very young age to care for the down and outs, but of course, like any 'light' in the world of darkness, the enemy wanted to stop my call. His attacks began early, but the Lord is much bigger than the enemy and there were lots of small things being done by the Lord that quietly and almost secretly invaded my life. One of the early events was when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I was playing outside when the Lord's presence filled the small area where I was playing outside, and the whole atmosphere changed. It was enough of a change that a small little girl stood up and looked around for an explanation of what was going on. It was a surreal feeling surrounding me. I still experience that feeling once in a while as an adult. And, of course, as the Lord was interacting with me, the enemy recognized the activity and set me up for an event.
As I was playing in the pasture down the road with some friends, my friends left me in the one single tree in the middle of the pasture. Home was a long ways away. As they ran to their home, they yelled back at me that the devil was in the tree limbs above my head. What?? I remember freezing, not moving, (as if that would stop the enemy?) and then with a sudden burst of courage (courage is defined as running home to momma at the fastest speed my little legs could run) I jumped down and ran.
I got home and the next several days were filled with fearful events. I saw monsters and was quite often overwhelmed with fear. You know, I think that these events played a huge role in my belief that our God is a BIG GOD and nothing is bigger nor stronger than He... and He is our Father. What more could anyone want?
One of my favorite Bible verses came from II Kings 6 where Elijah was surrounded by the enemy with an army that was sent to find him. Elijah's servant saw the army on the hill and panic set in, but Elijah asked the Lord to open the servant's eyes and then the servant was able to see that they were surrounded by the army of the Lord. That is where the verse comes from that says, 'greater are those with us are more than those with them.'
My life has called for me to have faith in a Big God. The Word of God shows us a Big God. It's important that we allow ourselves to need and depend on our Father God being Big.
Know what I mean?

Jonas Clark: Witchcraft, Loneliness, Church and the Jezebel Spirit
The Jezebel spirit releases witchcraft against your mind and emotions. The purpose of the witchcraft is to wear you down little by little in an effort to control your life. Witchcraft is one of the demon spirits in Jezebel’s network.
When you first meet Jezebel she is kind, flattering, and ministered to something inside you. She solved problems, came up with ideas and offered valuable insight. You felt that finally someone really understood you. You found a friend and companion. As time went by something happened, Jezebel changed. She turned on you with cold shoulder instead of a warm smile. Imaginations ran wild and you wondered what you did. Rejection, hurt, puzzlement, and pain surface from within. You are now ready for Phase Two of Jezebel’s control.
For a person to be overcome by the Jezebel spirit they must fulfill certain conditions. Through witchcraft the Jezebel spirit wants you to “give ground”. That means you slowly but surely give way to Jezebel’s influence.

It should not be unreasonable for believers to believe that germs or viruses

commission of Jesus (Mk. 16:18)."

Baby Biting Demons
Kenneth Copeland says:
Personally, I stand on that promise every day. It's like a spiritual sword I hold out in front of me. Now it's not intended for believers. It's intended to protect me from the devil and his crowd. But if anyone decides to agree with the devil and attack me,

A Demon Under Every Rock?
Some say that spiritual warfare and deliverance ministries go too far by looking for a demon under every rock. I say, if you are assigned to spiritual warfare, and you DO find a demon under every rock, then good for you. I seriously doubt that you WILL find a demon under every rock, But if you do, it is better than listening to what "they say" and better than walking on by pretending not to see any demons.

John Eckhardt: How to Confront the Enemy's Tactics
The Bible talks about the wiles of the devil (Eph. 6:11). A wile is a trick or a trap. A trap is a snare. Warfare involves tactics and strategies. The greatest generals are great tacticians and strategists. You cannot win without a strategy. Don’t allow the enemy to strategize against you.
