Jane Hamon: Pitfalls of Discernment

Pitfalls of Discernment
Learning to Discern
by Jane Hamon

In the beginning I made a lot of mistakes, not necessarily in what I was seeing or hearing but in keeping my heart right. It was easy to become judgmental and critical from what I was hearing God say. I had to learn to discern what came from my soul and what came from the Holy Spirit. I had to learn that sometimes my own opinions got involved and blocked me from seeing what was occurring in the spiritual realm or in the natural realm. Ephesians 1:17 speaks of having a spirit of revelation but also a spirit of wisdom. I had a lot to learn and great leaders around me to help me grow in grace and wisdom.

At times, I felt overwhelmed by what I was seeing or overburdened by the responsibility of the revelations. What was I supposed to do with everything God was showing me? Many times I became frustrated and said or did the wrong thing. There were times when I simply wanted to ignore the gift or close my spiritual ears to the voice of God because I dreaded making a mistake on such important matters.

Others with the gift of discerning of spirits express similar challenges. Some shut down the operation of this gift in their lives because they grow frustrated with seeing things in the Spirit when they have no idea of what to do with that information. The internal pressure of receiving a flood of revelation without any strategy for its use is overwhelming. Others shut it down because they made mistakes with some of the information information they received. Those bad experiences hurt people or led to misunderstandings with leaders in their churches.

It is imperative for people with discernment revelation to pursue the balancing anointing of wisdom that Paul spoke about when he prayed for the church at Ephesus. This was written to a first-century church planted right in the heart of a city that was the center of the known world for goddess worship, magic and occult training. If anyone needed discernment it was these believers.

He wrote: [I pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; . . . according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

I'm one that shut down.  I have a history of shutting down my gift.  Then I repent and start all over again.  As Jane said, it can become overwhelming.

I have been very blessed to be reading about Sister Jane's struggles with this gift.  I know that as I press on into her teaching, I and stay humble before the Lord, I learn to grow more faithful to this gift.  I am amazed at the ignorance surrounding the gift of discernment.  It makes it hard on those who have the gift because those who don't have very accusing things to say to us.  Yes, they think we are judgemental and start out to correct us, but there is more to it.  Most that I have talked to also have a very nervous disposition based on fear of being an evil person because they feel they are being judgemental.  They fuss at themselves constantly.

I don't believe this gift is one that you just step out into one day and become an expert at it.  I believe it takes years... if one does not give up.  Don't give up.

Thought Curses

Thought Curses
Jennifer LeClaire

If you're a charismatic believer, you've probably heard of word curses. A word curse is a form of witchcraft that taps into the power of death that's in your tongue—or someone else's tongue. This spirit of Jezebel can work through people to release thought curses.

When we speak negatively over someone's life—"They will never hold down a job acting like that," "Their marriage is bound to fail the way he treats her," "The doctors said he's going to die in 30 days. Isn't that sad?" "I catch that flu every year!" "I'll never get a raise at this dead-end job"—we are agreeing with the enemy's plan and giving power to it with our anointed mouths. When we speak word curses over someone's life—or our own lives—we are opening the door to the devil.

Remember, Proverbs 18:21 says the power of death and life are in the tongue. Unfortunately, I hear many people speaking continual death over their lives, their children, their finances—and other people. Since words come from thoughts, word curses actually begin as thought curses.

The Reality of Thought Curses

Recently, as I was praying to break word curses, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the reality of thought curses. One of my prophetic mentors instructed me about 15 years ago that someone was releasing thought curses against me and it was causing me emotional distress. I forgot all about that until the Holy Spirit brought it back up again—and then I found theology to back up the theory.

The preacher said, "Even in your mind do not curse the king; and in your bedchamber do not curse the rich; for a bird in the sky may carry your voice, and a winged creature may declare the matter" (Eccl. 10:20).

The word "curse" in that Scripture means, "to make despicable, to curse, to make light, to treat with contempt, bring contempt, or dishonor," according to the KJV Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon. The Bible says even in your mind—another translation says in your thoughts—not to curse people. Even in your mind! A word curse gives voice to an evil thought, but how can a thought take voice in the spirit realm?

From Thought Curses to Word Curses

When we think wrong thoughts about people—or about ourselves—we're violating Scripture. Paul tells us, "Whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things" (Phil. 4:8).

When we're thinking wrong thoughts about people—or ourselves—we're agreeing with the Accuser of the Brethren. We're getting on the devil's side and allowing him to feed our minds ammunition that will eventually come out of our mouths and become a word curse. Think about it for a minute. If you meditate on how angry and upset you are about someone because they wronged you, how long will it be before you speak out those thought curses and transform them into word curses?

Have you ever walked into a room and the atmosphere was tense or gloomy? And then when you speak to the person in the room, you discover they are tense or gloomy. Could it be possible that their thoughts have impacted the atmosphere in the room? I believe so. I believe if thoughts are powerful to change our own mind, they must be powerful enough to change the atmosphere around us and may be powerful enough to release witchcraft at people.

What I do know is this: Witches believe in negative thought forms. Negative thought forms are described as "structured interdimensional energy" that witches work up against victims for a specific purpose. These are intentional psychic attacks that come through negative thinking, jealousy, anger, fear, revenge and other negative thoughts. If there is power in positive thinking, there must be power in negative thinking.

Combating Thought Curses

As Christians, we need to obey Scripture. Second Corinthians 10:5-6 talks about casting down imaginations, but we often forget the part that says to bring "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being willing to punish all disobedience when your obedience is complete."

Combating thought curses starts with our own thoughts. If we're cursing ourselves in our thoughts, we need to intentionally think the opposite of what the enemy is telling us, what people say about us, or what we think about our own shortcomings. We need to declare the truth out of our mouths. By the same token, we need to guard our thoughts about others. We don't want to be used of the enemy against anyone and violate the law of love.

Now, if you discern thought curses are coming against you, move in the Luke 6:28 principle—bless those who curse you even if you don't know who they are. Next, bind thought curses and word curses in the name of Jesus with the Matthew 16:19 key. Finally, take authority over every demonic thought that has been formed against your life and gird up the loins of your mind, for that is where the root of the battle really lies.

My Call Came Early in My Life

 My name is Stacie Jaye.

I am one of the founders of Eagle Way Ministries (online).

I was called by the Lord at a very young age, and of course, I had no idea of what it meant, just that I wanted to preach or teach.  The Lord put it on my heart at a very young age to care for the down and outs, but of course, like any 'light' in the world of darkness, the enemy wanted to stop my call.  His attacks began early, but the Lord is much bigger than the enemy and there were lots of small things being done by the Lord that quietly and almost secretly invaded my life.  One of the early events was when I was about 4 or 5 years old.  I was playing outside when the Lord's presence filled the small area where I was playing outside, and the whole atmosphere changed.  It was enough of a change that a small little girl stood up and looked around for an explanation of what was going on.  It was a surreal feeling surrounding me.  I still experience that feeling once in a while as an adult.  And, of course, as the Lord was interacting with me, the enemy recognized the activity and set me up for an event.

As I was playing in the pasture down the road with some friends, my friends left me in the one single tree in the middle of the pasture.  Home was a long ways away.  As they ran to their home, they yelled back at me that the devil was in the tree limbs above my head.  What??  I remember freezing, not moving, (as if that would stop the enemy?) and then with a sudden burst of courage (courage is defined as running home to momma at the fastest speed my little legs could run) I jumped down and ran.

I got home and the next several days were filled with fearful events.  I saw monsters and was quite often overwhelmed with fear.  You know, I think that these events played a huge role in my belief that our God is a BIG GOD and nothing is bigger nor stronger than He... and He is our Father.  What more could anyone want?

One of my favorite Bible verses came from II Kings 6 where Elijah was surrounded by the enemy with an army that was sent to find him.  Elijah's servant saw the army on the hill and panic set in, but Elijah asked the Lord to open the servant's eyes and then the servant was able to see that they were surrounded by the army of the Lord.  That is where the verse comes from that says, 'greater are those with us are more than those with them.'

My life has called for me to have faith in a Big God.  The Word of God shows us a Big God.  It's important that we allow ourselves to need and depend on our Father God being Big.

Know what I mean?

Deliver Us From Evil, Part 1

It is coming up on 50 years since I was first introduced to the ministry of Deliverance by Derek Prince. In those 50 years, what I have learned and what I have seen has opened my eyes to a realm of Jesus’ ministry that is still greatly misunderstood in many parts of the body of Christ.

Because of what we have seen unfolding in the past few months and years, it is clear that we are in the midst of a battle Royal with the Enemy.  He has been losing ground, and is doing everything in his power to fight against what God is doing in the earth today.  He has opposed (and continues to oppose) any and all believers whose very existence threatens his domain.  He knows that his days are numbered and that he is on the losing side.

In the coming weeks, I would like to take you through a renewed understanding and revelation of this realm — a realm that encompassed fully one-third of Jesus ministry as recorded in the Gospels.

Jonas Clark: Witchcraft, Loneliness, Church and the Jezebel Spirit

Witchcraft, Loneliness, Church and the Jezebel Spirit

The Jezebel spirit releases witchcraft against your mind and emotions. The purpose of the witchcraft is to wear you down little by little in an effort to control your life. Witchcraft is one of the demon spirits in Jezebel’s network.

When you first meet Jezebel she is kind, flattering, and ministered to something inside you. She solved problems, came up with ideas and offered valuable insight. You felt that finally someone really understood you. You found a friend and companion. As time went by something happened, Jezebel changed. She turned on you with cold shoulder instead of a warm smile. Imaginations ran wild and you wondered what you did. Rejection, hurt, puzzlement, and pain surface from within. You are now ready for Phase Two of Jezebel’s control.

For a person to be overcome by the Jezebel spirit they must fulfill certain conditions. Through witchcraft the Jezebel spirit wants you to “give ground”. That means you slowly but surely give way to Jezebel’s influence.

"Prayer in tongues builds a covering of glory about us. The fringe benefit
of this is immunity to sicknesses and diseases present in the world. John G.

Life. In an experiment with scientists, live germs placed in his hands died
instantly (The John G. Lake Sermons on Dominion over Demons, Diseases

It should not be unreasonable for believers to believe that germs or viruses
will die instantly at the moment of contact with their bodies. Jesus gave to
the disciples power and authority over ALL sicknesses and diseases (Matt.
10:1). This authority and power is still operational today through the
commission of Jesus (Mk. 16:18)."

Baby Biting Demons

'No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

Kenneth Copeland says:

Personally, I stand on that promise every day. It's like a spiritual sword I hold out in front of me. Now it's not intended for believers. It's intended to protect me from the devil and his crowd. But if anyone decides to agree with the devil and attack me,

A Demon Under Every Rock?

A demon under every rock?

Some say that spiritual warfare and deliverance ministries go too far by looking for a demon under every rock. I say, if you are assigned to spiritual warfare, and you DO find a demon under every rock, then good for you. I seriously doubt that you WILL find a demon under every rock, But if you do, it is better than listening to what "they say" and better than walking on by pretending not to see any demons.

The closet...
There was a man who sought the Lord in a mad and rushing world.  He longed for a quiet place to call his own where he could spend more time with the Lord and feel the deep and satisfying fellowship with Him.  In the place where he lived, there just was no room, no quiet place, and very little time.  Life was

John Eckhardt: How to Confront the Enemy's Tactics

We are not to be ignorant of the devil’s tactics. We can overcome all his schemes. The devil is a schemer. A scheme is a plan, design, or program of action.

The Bible talks about the wiles of the devil (Eph. 6:11). A wile is a trick or a trap. A trap is a snare. Warfare involves tactics and strategies. The greatest generals are great tacticians and strategists. You cannot win without a strategy. Don’t allow the enemy to strategize against you.
Overcome and destroy his strategies through

Example of Spiritual Warfare

What is Spiritual Warfare?

Gosh, I could talk on this subject all night.  I, one who did not believe in angels and demons as being active in our daily lives, became a believer due to the grace of our Lord who has taught me a lot and promises to teach me more as i am able to be taught.  The same holds true about you also.

There is a spiritual realm around us.  It is filled with demonic influence and angelic intervention.  We may have a wonderful relationship with the Lord, but we can not be ignorant of the enemy's tactics and role he is playing in these last days.  I want to share, again, the scripture from II Kings 6.15:

New King James Version (NKJV)
15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

You and I begin as the servant of the man of God with eyes that see nothing more than what everyone else sees.  But, there is more to be seen. There is more to be learned.  And, I want you to know, the experiences are real once you start in this type of walk.

Ever hear a story like this?

◾️Last night, in the middle of the night, I woke to feeling hands on the back of my neck with two thumbs pressing into each side of my spine area where my spine enters into the back of my head.  I felt myself begin to give under the pressure and I began to bend over at the waist.  Once I was able to cognitively recognize what was going on, I began to plead the blood of Jesus.  The hands released for a moment, but began to apply pressure again.  I was quicker to plead the blood of Jesus this time and the event was over.

I had no fear during the episode, just a little difficulty in speaking the plead of the blood the first time.  But, afterwards, I got up to get a drink of water and found myself just a bit nervous about the whole thing.  I went back to bed and slept well.  This morning, i contemplated what had happened.

I know that my growth in the Lord has played some kind of role in this attack.  I have yielded to the Lord to speak about these things so that others can at least know these things happen.  I am thinking that my willing to be bold has attracted the enemy's attention.  I don't know why I was attacked at the base of the brain unless the enemy wanted to mess with my cognition.  But, the point I want to make is that the attack was real and it happens all the time to people who have no clue about what is going on.  Thus, they do not battle the enemy.  They accept it as being a natural thing that comes with age, or too much exercise, or whatever else that might cross the line.◾️

Can you grasp this?
Can you accept these things?
