Called into leadership, not a Service position

So, I was listening to Joyce Meyer talk about God's purpose

for our lives. One of the things she tries to do is get the pressure off of us by teach us to trust the Lord to be able to get the information to us concerning what He wants us to do in a way

we can understand. Then she started sharing how she experimented with finding her call.

She said that she tried several different roles and positions but found that the Lord had called her to be a leader. She tried being a ‘service’ member of the body of Christ, but found out quickly she was called to lead, not follow. When I heard her say that, I was startled and immediatly asked the Lord if a person could say that. It seemed so… so… ‘unreligious.’

We are expected to say we are called to be the service worker and when someone says they are NOT called to that position, it shocks us. We hear things like.. “let the Lord exault you,” which is true, but don’t we believe it is important to know what we are NOT called to do?

So, basically what I am thinking is that if you are called to be a leader, then prepare to be that leader, and to be a GREAT one. Don’t get all bashful about it and wait until gold dust falls all over your head. Don’t be ashamed to say that you are called to lead. Don’t be afraid to reject jobs in the body of Christ that are NOT what you are called to do. Just make sure you are doing your best to understand the Lord’s call and then be as faithful as you can. That way, you’ll be ready when He needs you.

Leaders: You Can’t Just Throw Something Up On The Board

══ღೋƸ̵̡ Pressing Toward the High Call Ʒღೋ══

Sometimes we get in a pinch and feel the pressure to post some information on a topic that we have not fully digested yet. We quickly glance over the material we putting on the post and think that it will do until we can get a little more serious about it. We feel rushed, but we also feel like we need to say something.

Leaders, don't do it.  Don't post it if you don't have time to do a good job.  The post will influence others in one way (good) or the other (bad) … Don't post it.

Acts 20:28
Take care and be on guard for yourselves and the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you bishops and guardians, to shepherd (tend and feed and guide) the church of the Lord orof God which He obtained for Himself [buying it and saving it for Himself] with His own blood.

Assuming Your Responsibility

In Acts chapter 5, the Bible shows us the power of the Holy Spirit in the local church when Ananias and Sapphira sold their property and lied about the price they received for it. We all know the story.  And because of this lie, they dropped dead in front of the whole church.  This brought a fear upon the entire church.  But, the apostles went on going about the business of the Kingdom of God and the Lord confirmed His words with miraculous signs and wonders.  And then, in verse 13, it says that no one dared join the apostles, the people did respect them highly.  As a result, 'more and more people believed...."

For years, I was taught that the age of apostles were over.
