We Are Given Teachers

Hebrews 6:12
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
...I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.

~

There are people who been put in place for us to follow. They have fruit that can be examined so that we do not follow down the wrong path of ‘good sounding words,’ persuasive arguments, or powerless entities masquerading as a church.

The Holy Spirit, who is our teacher, also provides us with teachers. He calls them, molds them, and tests them before He ordains them. He does this because He loves us and wants the best for us.

It has been said that, “No man can be an island.” This is clearly supported by the Word. We are joints and ligaments, eyes and ears, and hands and feet of the same body. We must find our places and learn to fulfill our functions without ignoring the assigned functions of others.

We, as a people of great freedoms, have a huge world around us that resents Authority, but the Lord has put ‘authority’ into a place where it benefits us the most. We must get with Him and find out where we are placed and who He has put us with to serve Him and His plans. We are not talking about a ‘free for all,’ where one can just walk into our lives and usurp a type of control. Our steps are ordered by the Lord and we walk within the dimensions and boundaries of mankind, but our steps will never be subservient to mankind, not if we are instep with the Holy Spirit.

There is no need for attitudes. No need for resentment against authority. No need to even feel threatened. We are to be a special blend of a functioning body that brings glory to the Name of Jesus. One way this begins is by recognizing we need each other, we need our teachers, and we need follow the examples that the Lord brings into our lives for our benefit.
