Leadership: progressive leadership

Dear L....

Well, I just wanted you to know that I have been reading a book by Rick Joyner today and he has a lot to say about the things that you were saying. He was saying that the leaders of the church need to pay attention to the spiritual level that the congregation is standing in. That most of them are two-year-olds. A leader needs to learn that they cannot treat a two-year-old like a mature adult. I know that I am summarizing this much to briefly, but I don't have a way to copy and paste some of the things he said along these lines.

I don't know why growing up in the Lord, for myself, is such a slow process. It seems to take me years to learn such a simple concept. I realize that it is "deep Unto deep" but, I think this is just the process of being grounded firmly. For me, there is also the element of learning how not to lean on others, and to lean on the Lord only, and this is done by many times being alone.

Ever feel like Youhave the answers but no one is asking the questions? You want to share these things, but no one wants Him. No one is hungry. Too many give him 10 minutes of flippant conversation and then act like they have all the answers. They have read their Bibles for years and are sure that they know what they're talking about.

Yet the Lord takes the leader through leadership school, And allows the student to be a tested, drilled, and tested some more. We are allowed every opportunity to get bitter, feel rejected, and to doubt ourselves in Him. Yet seems like by the hairs of chinny chin Chin we hang on, and persevere.

We had to let go and let God, and still believe that we are still caring about something and Not become complacent. We have to learn that there are some things we can do and somethings we cannot do. We have to learn that our walk with him depends on 'our walk' with him and nobody else. Where it seems that because others we might fail, we have to learn that he sees everything and will judge us faithful and will pull us through. As much as we desire to serve him, he desires that we succeed and serve him, because He really does need us.

These are growing years. And we will grow and be taught until we are grown. When the fruit on the vine is right it will drop to the ground and bear more fruit.
